The San Andreas Highway Patrol’s fundamental duty is to serve the State; safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against violence.
The San Andreas Motorcycle Unit is composed of Troopers who specialize in traffic enforcement. Motorcycles allow for Troopers to respond with greater maneuverability than regular patrol vehicles. Additionally, these motorcycles low-profile allow for greater concealment to enforce vehicle and traffic law.
The San Andreas Highway Patrol Aviation Unit is composed of pilots who specialize in: interdiction, tracking, search and rescue, and public affairs. Aviation Unit Troopers enable the law enforcement community at-large the ability to conduct complex tasks that road-units are not necessarily capable of.
The San Andreas Highway Patrol Marine Unit is composed of Troopers who specialize in coastal operations, to include: interdiction, search and rescue, and public affairs. Marine Unit Troopers enable the law enforcement community at-large the ability to conduct complex tasks that road-units are not necessarily capable of.
The SRU is composed of Troopers who specialize in defusing and containing chaos within the State. These SRU Troopers have advanced training in tactics, firearms, and mobile operations that a regular Trooper does not. This enables them to resolve situations that regular patrol officers, deputies, and Troopers are not equipped for.
The past and present of state law enforcement
The San Andreas State Legislature originally established the San Andreas Highway Patrol as a branch of the Division of Motor Vehicles in the Department of Public Works, with legislation signed by Governor C. C. Young on August 14, 1929. It was subsequently established as a separate department with legislation signed by Governor Earl Warren in 1947. The SAHP gradually assumed increased responsibility beyond the enforcement of the State Vehicle Act and eventually merged with the smaller San Andreas State Police in 1995.
The San Andreas Highway Patrol (SAHP) is a law enforcement agency of San Andreas. The SAHP has patrol jurisdiction over all San Andreas highways and are also known as the state police. They also have jurisdiction over city roads, and have the right to conduct law enforcement procedures there.
